3rd Time is a Charm

It is fun now that Kayda is getting big enough to get Christmas. I taught her how to sing Santa Claus is coming to Town. Well it started out with her singing,"Santa Claus is coming to my house" and then it went to,"Santa Claus is coming tonight" and finally to,"Santa Claus is coming to town." The other day when we drove down to the valley I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was writing a letter to santa. I asked her what it said and she started out saying,"Dear Santa..."(I couldn't hear the rest-except I did hear the word Barbie)

I keep finding "letters to Santa" everywhere. Ilove it!

Photo Session No.2

On Christmas Sunday we were all dressed up so of course I thought we needed some pictures of the occasion. Maria wanted some family pictures taken also so we had one big photo shoot.

The following picture pretty much sums up the most of the pictures. Kayda making faces, Kolby drooling and Jaden and I trying to keep up the smiles in case there was a good shot.

Photo Session No. 1

This year I tried to get a photographer to take our pictures but she ended up double booking so we were going to do the norm and have Katie take some pictures. It turned out that there was snow in Pine so we went with Plan C and had my sister Maria take our picture. It was snowing while we were taking pictures.

Kayda couldn't wait any longer and started to play with the snow during the photoshoot.

Maria brought her girls so they joined in the fun.

Maria tried to get them all rounded up in the car.

They finally thought they could go once all of their hands were frozen.

Putting up the Tree

Jaden is the master of putting up the tree. He has to have three different kinds of lights on it.

Temple Lights

I was going to do a post of Christmas Past and Present but I never got around to digging out pictures to scan them. About six years ago me and my friend Beth took pictures from Provo to Salt Lake with whatever Christmas items we could find including the temple lights. So this year when I read her blog that they were going to the temple lights the same night as us I knew that we need to take a few pictures for old times sake. ( and no we did not plan to be matchy)

I love the temple lights and feeling of the true meaning of Christmas that is felt there.

Matchy, Matchy

First off, as you can tell it was hard to get two kids on the same page as far as taking pictures. (well the 2 year old was have way too much fun to just have a normal smile) But the other day while we were at good 'ol Wal-mart, we actually found matching pjs in both Kayda's and Kolby's size. Here is how the conversation went:

Me: Yeah!! They can have matchy pjs. I'm so happy!

Jaden:(rolling eyes) You're weird.

Kayda: NO!! She's Happy!!

Story Time

On Wednesday after dance class me and Kayda usually head to the library for story time. But lucky for Kayda during December they have an extra story time on Friday for reindeer games, Christmas crafts, and holiday stories. A parade was involved with the kids singing "jingle bells" so I get to hear it "all the way, Hey!" home.

Slacker

Okay Beware! I am going to try to make up for lost time and blog everyday (at least that is the plan) until I have all of the posts done that I want done. So first off Thanksgiving! Since no one was deciding what they wanted to do for Thanksgiving and me and Jaden decided we would do it at our house. We had been working on our back room but obviously never finished it- so we had Thanksgiving in "kayda's room". It was the first time I had ever made turkey (scary). And Maria's veggie platter was fancier than mine so I might be demoted next time- cranberry sauce in a can maybe?? Anyway my plan was to have fun whatever happend and I did!

I am so thankful for many things:

My family, Friends, Low maintenance baby, A two year old that knows how to make me laugh,

A husby that loves me, A home (character and all), Being able to stay home with my kiddos,

The gospel , and having the opportunity to enjoy each day and the surprises that come with it.
