Since my 10 year reunion is coming up we (or I ) decided to try to take a more recent family picture (to send in). I ended up picking, not the one that I look the best, but the one where Kayda is looking at the camera and kind of smiling. The first picture is to illustrate how fun Kayda was being. It was actually fun. And good thing Katie likes to be paid by a hot fudge sundae.

We have been doing so many projects that Kayda feels like that she needs to help. So the other day I decided to let her help. I gave her a paint brush and she was in helping. I am bummed that I didn't get a picture of her pulling off wall paper(that is all I have been doing for weeks now it feels like). Poor kid won't know what a normal childhood is.

Okay so the Carpenter song says that "rainy days and Mondays always get me down." So Monday was very rainy but it didn't get me down BUT yesterday did. It was one of those days where at the end of the day you thank Heavenly Father that your family is all alive and safe. So yesterday was one of those days where Kayda was really clingy and didn't want me to put her down. But at lunch time, since we have no kitchen to cook in, I decided to make Eggos in the toaster. Kayda finally let me put her down and while the Eggos were in the toaster, which was on our half wall, and I was getting some grapes Kayda decided to stick a spoon in the toaster. She started screaming and I realized she probably got a good shock. So after her nap I decided to take her on a bike ride to drop off the bills. On the way home a lady didn't see us and decided to pull out when we were right in front of her. I was so shaken up because I flew off the bike and I could just see Kayda strapped in so I got up and grabbed her as fast as I could. We decided to go to the ER where 5 1/2 hours later we got home and knowing that Kayda was OK. What a mess!! But thank goodness for regular rainy day and mondays.

So we are still in the middle of remodeling. Since the kitchen flooded we had to pull up some of the flooring. To our amazement (or sadness) there were several layers that we kept discovering. It took many hours and volunteer family labor to get out all of the layers. To explain there was a sub-floor, particle board, vinyl tile, sub-floor, linoleum, backer board and then tile. Our house has got character! soon I will have a preview of before and after
It is not every morning that I make breakfast. For one, Jaden isn't a breakfast person and for two, I am just not a morning person. So the other day I made some homemade blueberry pancakes. Kayda thought she was in heaven. She loves blueberries! So it kinda made me think that I should make breakfast more often but then I thought, maybe not because then it would not be such a novelty.
Okay, this picture is kinda scary but one of the only ones that I have that shows her mouth full of teeth.

So I feel like we have projected ourselves to the bone, but last week was Jaden's little sister's baptism, LaRiah. That was a good break from everything and get away. Jaden's sister,Shaelene, is getting married (yeah!!) and so he was taking some shots of her and her fiance (who happens to be related to Kari, my roomie of 5 years). So anyway while he was taking pictures I was taking some behind the scenes pictures of cute Kayda and Jaden taking pictures. I noticed that Kayda was really looking like Jaden's sister LaRiah. To catch this resemblence I tried to take a picture of them together and also Kayda's cousin, Aiden. Can I just tell you it was hilarious trying to get them to look at the camera at the same time. I admire all you photogs out there for getting a family to all look at the camera at the same time.
